Derry City secured a victory against Waterford in a hard-fought match played in Londonderry on February 28th, 2025, as part of the third round of the Irish Premier Division. Despite dominating possession with 71%, Derry City’s performance was marred by their disciplinary issues.
Waterford took the lead through a goal by K. White in the 9th minute, assisted by C. Noonan. K. Radkowski doubled Waterford’s advantage in the 39th minute. However, Derry City fought back strongly in the second half. P. Hoban scored a penalty in the 64th minute, narrowing the gap.
