Al-Duhail SC defeated Al Shahaniya 3-1 in a thrilling match played at the Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar, for matchday 17 of the 2024 Stars League. The game, played on February 28th, 2025, was marked by intensity and controversy. Al-Duhail slightly dominated possession (51%) and shots on target (7 out of 12), while Al Shahaniya responded with greater accuracy in their shots (4 out of 7).
Michael Olunga opened the scoring for Al-Duhail in the 46th minute, assisted by S. Zakaria. Paul van Amersfoort then equalized from a penalty in the 65th minute for Al Shahaniya. However, Al-Duhail regained the lead thanks to a goal by Karim Boudiaf in the 70th minute, assisted by B. Bourigeaud, sealing the victory.
