Stuttgart Dominates St. Pauli at Home
Stuttgart, Germany – In a match played at the MHPArena, VfB Stuttgart clearly defeated FC St. Pauli in the fourth matchday of the Bundesliga. Despite Stuttgart having a slightly favorable possession (52% compared to St. Pauli’s 48%), the home side’s effectiveness was key to the game.
Stuttgart opened the scoring in the 25th minute, thanks to a goal by A. Stiller, who redeemed himself after missing a previous penalty in the same play. St. Pauli, who had already seen a yellow card to J. Sands in the 40th minute, suffered a major blow before the break with E. Demirovic’s goal in the 43rd minute, assisted by J. Leweling, extending Stuttgart’s lead.
After the break, Stuttgart’s dominance was consolidated with a goal by B. El Khannouss in the 50th minute, assisted by E. Demirovic, practically sealing the game. St. Pauli, who received a second yellow card for O. Afolayan in the 67th minute, struggled to find an opening, but Stuttgart’s defense proved solid. With a total of 16 shots (7 on target) compared to St. Pauli’s 8 shots (2 on target), Stuttgart demonstrated their offensive superiority and secured a well-deserved victory in front of their fans. The referee, Sascha Stegemann, officiated the match diligently.
