Universitatea Craiova Secures Convincing Home Victory
Craiova, Romania – In a match largely dominated by the home side, Universitatea Craiova delivered a commanding performance against Spartak Trnava at the Complex Sportiv Craiova in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Despite a more balanced ball possession than the scoreline suggests (55% for Craiova, 45% for Trnava), goal-scoring efficiency was the key factor in the game.
The second half was a goal-scoring spectacle for the Romanians. S. Baiaram opened the scoring in the 51st minute, quickly followed by A. Al Hamlawi in the 54th minute, assisted by T. Baluta. C. Mora sealed the victory in the 80th minute, consolidating a solid offensive display.
Spartak Trnava struggled to find their rhythm, managing just one shot on target throughout the entire match. Frustration grew and culminated in the dismissal of J. Paur in the 88th minute, leaving the Slovakian team with ten men. The match also saw several yellow cards, including one for L. Houri of Craiova and another for T. Kudlicka of Trnava.
Despite the 3 corners earned by each team, Universitatea Craiova proved to be much more dangerous in attack, with 17 total shots, 8 of them directed on goal, contrasting with the scarce 6 shots and single shot on target of the Slovakian team.
