Suriname Overwhelms El Salvador in World Cup Qualifier
Paramaribo, November 13, 2025 – Suriname convincingly defeated El Salvador with a final score of 4 to 0 at the Franklin Essed Stadion, in a match corresponding to the final round of the CONCACAF qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The match, refereed by Jamaican Oshane Nation, was marked by a hard-fought game with numerous fouls. El Salvador received two yellow cards in the first half, while Suriname saw one.
The scoring opened in the 44th minute, thanks to a penalty converted by T. Chery. After the break, Suriname increased its dominance. R. Margaret scored two consecutive goals in the 74th and 76th minutes, extending the lead. D. Klas sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 83rd minute.
The match was characterized by a 50% split in ball possession, but Suriname’s effectiveness in front of goal was decisive. Suriname took 13 shots, 4 of which were on target, while El Salvador attempted 10 shots, with only 3 directed at the goal. Suriname committed 15 fouls and El Salvador 22.
