Cerro Porteño falls to Sporting Cristal in a thrilling match
Lima, May 14, 2025 – Sporting Cristal defeated Cerro Porteño in a CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage match played at the Estadio Nacional de Lima. The final score reflected the home team’s superiority, who dominated possession and created more scoring chances.
The match was marked by high tension, with a total of 13 yellow cards and one red card for Cerro Porteño. J. Iturbe scored the only goal for Cerro Porteño in the 14th minute, assisted by F. Carrizo. Despite the early goal, Sporting Cristal controlled the game, shooting 17 times (7 on target) compared to Cerro Porteño’s 12 (4 on target).
