Braga Overpowers Cluj in a Match Highlighted by Zalazar’s Performance
Braga, Portugal – SC Braga defeated CFR 1907 Cluj at the Estádio Municipal de Braga in a match corresponding to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The match, officiated by German referee Sascha Stegemann, saw Braga dominate the scoreboard thanks to a standout performance by R. Zalazar.
The first goal came early, in the 19th minute, when Zalazar converted a penalty after an unspecified foul. Braga continued to press and, just before halftime, in the 45th minute, Zalazar scored again with a regular goal, assisted by J. Moutinho, consolidating the home team’s lead.
Despite Cluj’s efforts to reverse the situation, including a yellow card for A. Abeid in the 14th minute, they failed to penetrate Braga’s defense. In the 88th minute, Braga’s joy for a possible third goal by F. Navarro was cut short when VAR disallowed the goal for offside.
The match ended with a victory for SC Braga, who are getting closer to the next phase of the competition.
