Los Angeles Galaxy Rout CS Herediano in CONCACAF Champions League
Carson, California – The Los Angeles Galaxy dominated CS Herediano with a resounding 4-1 victory in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16, played at Dignity Health Sports Park. The match, refereed by Ismael Cornejo of El Salvador, took place on March 13, 2025.
The Galaxy controlled possession (67%) and created numerous scoring opportunities, registering 14 shots with 5 on target. J. Aude opened the scoring in the 30th minute, assisted by I. Parente. Six minutes later, M. Berry doubled the lead, also assisted by Parente. In the second half, Gabriel Pec added a third goal in the 53rd minute, assisted by H. Miller, who had earlier received a yellow card. C. Ramirez scored the fourth goal in the 76th minute, assisted by C. Garces.
CS Herediano, with 33% possession, struggled to create clear-cut chances despite having 9 shots, only 3 of which were on target. Their solitary goal came late in the game, scored by Tepa in the 82nd minute, assisted by H. Quiros. Despite the defeat, the Costa Rican side will aim for a comeback in the second leg. The Galaxy, however, take a commanding lead into the return match.
