Home United Rout Muangthong United in AFC Cup Round of 16
Home United secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Muangthong United in the AFC Cup Round of 16 match held at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore City on February 20th, 2025. The game, officiated by Iranian referee Heidari, Payam, saw Home United dominate in front of goal.
M. Lestienne opened the scoring for Home United with a penalty in the 3rd minute. Despite yellow cards for S. Anuar (21′) and H. Harun (40′), Home United extended their lead before halftime through a goal by B. Ramselaar in the 45th minute. In the second half, S. Anuar added two more goals, one in the 63rd minute assisted by H. Harun and another in the 88th minute, sealing a comprehensive victory.
Although Muangthong United enjoyed more possession (56%), they lacked effectiveness in front of goal, managing only one shot on target. Home United, with 44% possession, showed greater clinical finishing, registering 5 shots on target from their 10 attempts.
