Bryne Upsets Brann in Thrilling Bergen Encounter
Brann, despite dominating possession (78%), suffered a surprising 2-3 defeat against Bryne at the Brann Stadion in Bergen. The match, part of the 2025 Eliteserien’s fourth round, saw Brann outshoot Bryne (15 to 12), but couldn’t convert their dominance into goals.
Bryne took an early lead with two first-half goals. D. Moreira opened the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by N. Strunck, and A. Scriven doubled the lead in the 15th minute, thanks to a pass from H. Larsen. Brann responded with yellow cards for E. Kornvig (29′) and E. Fauske Helland (31′), reflecting their offensive frustration.
Brann pushed for a comeback in the second half. B. Finne pulled one back in the 64th minute, and F. Myhre scored in the 76th minute, assisted by Finne, bringing Brann closer. However, Bryne’s strong defense and counter-attacks proved decisive. Both teams picked up more yellow cards in the second half. Ultimately, a late penalty converted by N. Castro secured a 3-2 victory for the visitors. Despite Brann’s territorial advantage, Bryne’s clinical finishing proved the difference.
