AEK Athens thrashes Panserraikos in dominant display
AEK Athens secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Panserraikos at the OPAP Arena in Athens on February 9th, 2025. The match, part of the 22nd round of the Greek Super League 1, saw the home side completely dominate.
O. Pineda opened the scoring in the 8th minute, assisted by D. Vida. A. Martial doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, with an assist from N. Eliasson. In the second half, AEK Athens continued their dominance. R. Ljubicic scored his first goal in the 74th minute, and Martial added another in the 81st minute, once again assisted by Eliasson. Ljubicic capped off the scoring with another goal in the 84th minute.
AEK Athens controlled the game with 62% possession, attempting 28 shots (11 on target). Panserraikos managed only 10 shots (4 on target), enjoying just 38% possession. The match saw several yellow cards issued, two to AEK Athens and three to Panserraikos.
