Unión Española defeated Ñublense in a thrilling match played at the Estadio Bicentenario Municipal de La Florida, Santiago, Chile, on April 14th, 2025, corresponding to matchday 7 of the Chilean Primera División. The match, refereed by Franco Esteban Jimenez Lazo, ended with a 3-0 victory for the home side.
Unión Española dominated the scoreboard early on, scoring two goals in the opening minutes. At 26′, G. Norambuena opened the scoring with an assist from P. Aranguiz. Two minutes later, Aranguiz scored the second goal for Unión Española. Ñublense tried to react but was stopped by the home team’s defense. In the second half, despite Ñublense’s slightly higher possession (55%), Unión Española maintained control of the game. A penalty scored by M. Suárez at 87′ sealed the victory for the home team. Although both teams had 14 shots, Unión Española’s accuracy was higher (7 on target vs 2 for Ñublense). The game was marked by a few yellow cards, one for Unión Española and two for Ñublense.
