KV Mechelen thrash Kortrijk in a high-action match
KV Mechelen triumphed over Kortrijk on Sunday with a convincing 4-0 victory in a Jupiler Pro League match that was characterized by high intensity and several yellow cards.
The home side dominated possession (61%) and created more scoring opportunities, registering 14 shots (7 on target), while Kortrijk only managed one shot on goal.
The first goal of the match came in the 45th minute, courtesy of L. Lauberbach. Lauberbach reappeared in the 66th minute, but this time with a yellow card. In the 48th minute, B. Bafdili extended KV Mechelen’s lead.
Kortrijk, on the other hand, appeared disorganized, committing numerous fouls and receiving the first yellow card of the match in the 37th minute.
In the second half, KV Mechelen continued their dominance and sealed the match with two more goals: D. Foulon in the 55th minute and B. Bafdili again in the 81st minute. Foulon also received a yellow card in the 57th minute.
