Canada Thrashes Honduras in Decisive Gold Cup Victory
Vancouver, British Columbia – Canada showcased its offensive prowess at BC Place, crushing Honduras in a Gold Cup group stage match. The Canadian team dominated the game with 54% possession and a barrage of 20 shots, 9 of which were on target.
The goal-scoring festival began early, in the 27th minute, with a goal by N. Sigur after an assist from J. David. Before halftime, T. Oluwaseyi extended the lead in the 45th minute, assisted by R. Laryea.
The second half was a continuation of Canadian dominance. T. Buchanan scored a brace, finding the net in the 48th minute and again in the 65th minute. P. David added to the goal tally in the 75th minute, assisted by A. Ahmed. The finishing touch was provided by N. Saliba in the 90th minute, sealing a resounding victory.
Honduras, for its part, struggled to find its rhythm, registering only 6 shots, with 4 on target. Despite their efforts, they were unable to counter Canada’s superiority. Referee Mario Escobar of Guatemala had a relatively quiet game, issuing no yellow or red cards to either team.
