PSV Eindhoven dominates Willem II in a match with two goals from Pepi
PSV Eindhoven defeated Willem II with a resounding 2-0 victory in the 7th round of the Eredivisie, thanks to a brace from Ricardo Pepi. The match was played at the Koning Willem II Stadion in Tilburg, and was marked by the clear superiority of the Eindhoven team, who controlled the ball for much of the match.
Pepi opened the scoring in the 49th minute, after an assist from Joey Veerman. The American striker took advantage of a through ball to finish with precision in front of the goalkeeper. The second goal came in the 64th minute, with a similar play. This time, it was Richard Karsdorp who set up Pepi, who again did not miss in front of goal.
Willem II, for their part, barely troubled the PSV goal. The visitors only managed to shoot seven times at goal, with none of the shots on target.
The first half of the match was marked by intensity and the fight for possession of the ball. PSV, with a more fluid and precise game, controlled the pace of the match. In the 27th minute, PSV defender Mario Dams was booked with a yellow card for a foul on a Willem II player. Minutes later, in the 35th minute, Willem II also saw a yellow card for Rúnar Sigurgeirsson.
