Viking hammered Stromsgodset in a vibrant match
Viking beat Stromsgodset with a convincing 6-2 in a thrilling match at the SR-Bank Arena in Stavanger.
The match started at a frenetic pace and Viking took the lead quickly with a goal from Z. Tripic in the 6th minute. However, Stromsgodset reacted and tied the game in the 29th minute with a goal from E. Melkersen.
Before the break, Z. Tripic put Viking back in the lead, this time with a penalty in the 36th minute. In the second half, Viking dominated the game and scored three goals in just two minutes, with L. Salvesen (minute 59), S. Svendsen (minute 61) and G. Stensness (minute 83) as the scorers.
Stromsgodset managed to pull one back with a goal from J. Therkelsen in the 75th minute, but could not prevent the defeat.
Viking was superior in almost every aspect, with 60% possession of the ball and 25 shots, 11 of which were on target. Stromsgodset remained at 40% possession and 8 shots.
This result leaves Viking in a privileged position in the standings, while Stromsgodset will have to improve their performance to avoid complications in the fight for survival.
