Maccabi Tel Aviv thrashes TSC Backa Topola in UEFA Europa League
Bačka Topola, Serbia – Maccabi Tel Aviv earned a dominant 6-1 victory over TSC Backa Topola in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League play-off tie. The match took place at the TSC Arena, with Portuguese referee Joao Pedro Pinheiro officiating.
Maccabi showcased their superiority right from the start. H. Addo opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a second goal in the 6th minute, both assisted by J. van Overeem. T. Asante netted the third goal in the 12th minute before D. Turgeman added the fourth in the 56th minute, assisted by R. Revivo.
TSC Backa Topola struggled to find their way into the game and failed to create any real danger. M. Radin picked up a yellow card in the 15th minute, followed by D. Stevanovic in the 22nd minute. I. Djakovac added a third yellow for the home side in the 54th minute, while V. Mboungou received a yellow in the 90th minute.
Maccabi’s fifth goal came in the 89th minute with I. Shahar scoring, once again assisted by R. Revivo. V. Mboungou managed to pull one back for TSC Backa Topola in the final minute of the game, but it was not enough to salvage the defeat.
Despite the win, Maccabi Tel Aviv received a yellow card for S. Jehezkel in the 40th minute.
