Karlsruher SC thrashed Sportfreunde Lotte in the first round of the German Cup
Karlsruher SC secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Sportfreunde Lotte in the first round of the German Cup, played at the Stadion am Lotter Kreuz.
The visitors dominated the game from the outset, with dynamic and effective football. The first goal came in the second minute thanks to D. Herold, who took advantage of an assist from L. Jensen to open the scoring.
Karlsruher SC didn’t settle for the early lead and continued to press. M. Wanitzek scored the second goal of the match in the 21st minute, after receiving a pass from B. Zivzivadze.
In the second half, Sportfreunde Lotte tried to react, but Karlsruher SC maintained control of the game and scored three more goals. An own goal by J. Sabah in the 49th minute, another goal by B. Zivzivadze in the 69th minute, and the final goal by B. Conte in the 82nd minute, secured the victory for Karlsruher SC.
Karlsruher SC controlled the match with 52% possession and generated 18 shots (7 on target). Sportfreunde Lotte, on the other hand, had 48% possession and only managed 11 shots, none of them on target.
The victory leaves Karlsruher SC in the second round of the German Cup, where they will face a new opponent.
