Sepahan FC humiliates Istiqlol with a home rout
Sepahan FC won a resounding 5-0 victory over Istiqlol in the second round of the AFC Cup group stage. The Iranian team dominated the match from the outset, showing an overwhelming superiority in both possession and attack.
The goals came early for Sepahan FC, with A. Kamara opening the scoring in the 40th minute and J. Aghaeipour scoring two consecutive goals in the 43rd and 46th minutes. The home team continued to press in the second half and B. Dabo added two more goals in the 76th and 80th minutes, sealing a crushing victory.
Istiqlol, for their part, were unable to find their rhythm in the match and only managed to make a few weak attempts to attack. The lack of accuracy in finishing and the inability to control midfield were key factors in the Tajik team’s defeat.
The match was played at the Foolad Shahr Stadium in Isfahan, with Ryo Tanimoto from Japan as referee.
