Seattle Sounders defeat Pumas in a dominant performance
Seattle, Washington – The Seattle Sounders showcased their dominance at home, defeating U.N.A.M. Pumas 4-0 in a Leagues Cup Round of 16 match. The game was intense, with both teams fighting for victory, but the Sounders proved more effective in attack.
The first goal came in the 32nd minute when P. Rothrock capitalized on a pass from A. Rusnak to open the scoring. The second goal arrived in the 58th minute, with J. Morris also finding the back of the net thanks to an assist from A. Rusnak. The third goal came in the 71st minute when A. Rusnak converted a penalty kick. The fourth and final goal arrived in the 90th minute, again from J. Morris via penalty.
The match was marked by several yellow cards, with 4 for Seattle and 5 for Pumas. Pumas finished the game down a man after L. Magallan received a red card in the 90th minute.
Despite the loss, Pumas had more possession (57%) and took 10 shots on goal, but they were unable to capitalize on any of those opportunities. Seattle Sounders, on the other hand, had 43% possession, took 4 shots on goal, and scored 4 goals.
