Santos edges past Operario-PR in a tight encounter
Santos, Brazil – Santos secured a narrow victory over Operario-PR in a hard-fought match at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira. The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute, scored by Giuliano, who was assisted by Guilherme.
The match was characterized by the intensity of both teams, reflected in the few clear-cut scoring opportunities and the constant battle for ball possession. Operario-PR had a better possession of the ball (52%), while Santos stood out for the number of shots (16).
Despite the defeat, Operario-PR showed a combative attitude, but only managed one shot on target. The only booking of the game went to Vinicius Diniz of Operario-PR in the 36th minute.
