San Jose Earthquakes cruise to a convincing win over Real Salt Lake
The San Jose Earthquakes dominated Real Salt Lake on Saturday, securing a convincing 3-0 victory at America First Field in Sandy, Utah.
The Earthquakes came out of the gates strong, with Cristian Espinoza putting them ahead in the 20th minute. Jackson Yueill provided the assist for Espinoza’s goal. The Earthquakes continued their onslaught, with a second goal coming from Aníbal Pellegrino in the 34th minute.
Real Salt Lake struggled to gain control of the match, failing to find a way past the Earthquakes’ defense. The visitors, meanwhile, added a third goal in the 84th minute.
The match was highlighted by the impressive performance of the San Jose Earthquakes, who controlled possession and created numerous scoring opportunities. The team’s dominance was evident in their shot count, with 14 shots, six of which found the target.
The result leaves the San Jose Earthquakes in a strong position in the league standings, while the Real Salt Lake will need to bounce back in their next match.
