Real Betis beats Getafe in a tense game with several players booked
Sevilla, September 18, 2024 – Real Betis defeated Getafe 2-1 in a tense match in La Liga’s round 3 that was marked by tension and yellow cards.
The game began with a very aggressive Getafe that accumulated four yellow cards in the first 16 minutes. Alena, Sola, Alderete and Bordalas Jimenez were booked by referee Juan Luis Pulido Santana. Real Betis responded with yellow cards for Perraud and Fornals in the 38th and 43rd minutes.
In the second half, the game turned in favour of Real Betis. Giovani Lo Celso opened the scoring in the 61st minute with a penalty and extended the lead in the 74th minute with a well-taken goal.
However, Getafe did not give up and managed to pull one back in the final minute with a goal from Arambarri. In the final minutes, Getafe manager Bordalas Jimenez received a red card for protests.
