Rapid Vienna Crushes Wisla Krakow in a Goal-Fest
Rapid Vienna dominated Wisla Krakow at the Allianz Stadion in a convincing win for the Austrian side in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The home team showcased their superiority from the start, scoring five goals in the first half.
G. Burgstaller was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick in the first 35 minutes. The Austrian striker opened the scoring in the 6th minute and added two more goals in the 24th and 30th minutes. Rapid’s fourth goal arrived in the 35th minute, again scored by Burgstaller, who was assisted by I. Jansson.
Despite missing a penalty in the 41st minute, Rapid Vienna continued to control the game and closed the first half with a fifth goal, this time scored by S. Raux Yao, assisted again by Jansson.
Wisla Krakow tried to come back in the second half, but Rapid Vienna maintained their control of the game and extended their lead with a goal from C. Lang in the 79th minute. The Wisla’s consolation goal arrived in the 80th minute, scored by A. Rodado, but it was too late for a comeback.
The game was played at a high pace, and both teams showed good offensive play. However, Rapid Vienna’s effectiveness was the key to their resounding victory. Wisla Krakow will need to significantly improve their performance if they want to stay alive in the UEFA Europa League.
