Port Vale edged out Colchester in a game full of yellow cards
Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire – Port Vale claimed victory over Colchester in a tense encounter packed with yellow cards. The game, played at Vale Park, was characterized by a midfield battle and constant interruptions.
Port Vale dominated possession (64%) and created more chances (16 shots, 4 on target), but Colchester managed to equalize in the final minutes.
The first goal arrived in the 56th minute, courtesy of J. Debrah, who capitalized on a pass from E. Chislett to put Port Vale ahead. The home side had several opportunities to extend their lead, but they failed to convert them.
In the final minutes, Colchester reacted and equalized the score in the 90th minute thanks to a goal by S. Tovide.
