Palmeiras crushed Cuiabá in a dominant performance
Palmeiras defeated Cuiabá by a resounding 6-0 score in a game they controlled from start to finish. The Verdão scored five goals in the first half and one more in the second, displaying overwhelming superiority against a Cuiabá that was unable to find their rhythm at any point in the game.
The first goal came in the 15th minute through Murilo, who took advantage of an assist from Estevao to open the scoring. Estevao increased the lead in the 27th minute with a penalty and then scored again in the 32nd minute, this time with an assist from R. Rios. Mauricio scored Palmeiras’ fourth goal in the 45th minute and Felipe Anderson capped off the rout in the 56th minute, again with an assist from Estevao.
Palmeiras controlled the game with 58% possession, 13 shots (9 on target), 6 corners and 16 fouls. Cuiabá, on the other hand, only managed 42% possession, 10 shots (3 on target), 1 corner and 6 fouls.
The game was played at the Estádio Brinco de Ouro da Princesa in Campinas, São Paulo, under the direction of Brazilian referee Alex Gomes Stefano.
