Newport County beats Crewe in an exciting match
Newport County defeated Crewe by 2-1 in a League Two match played at the Rodney Parade in Casnewydd on Saturday. The game was marked by the intensity and fight of both teams, which resulted in a total of 5 yellow cards.
The first goal of the match came in the 33rd minute from C. Evans, who took advantage of an assist from C. Antwi to put the home team ahead. Crewe tried to react, but couldn’t find the back of the net until the 71st minute, when A. Thibaut managed to tie the score with a goal assisted by R. Cooney. However, the visitors’ joy was short-lived, as Newport County went back ahead in the 74th minute thanks to a goal from M. Baker, assisted by A. Driscoll-Glennon.
Despite Crewe looking for the equalizer in the final minutes, Newport County managed to maintain the advantage and took the three points.
