IF Elfsborg edges out Molde in a tight encounter
IF Elfsborg secured a narrow victory over Molde in a UEFA Europa League match held at the Aker Stadion. The only goal of the game came in the 15th minute, courtesy of A. Qasem’s excellent finish, assisted by M. Baidoo.
The match was characterized by a rather tight game with few clear-cut chances. The territorial dominance was even, but Elfsborg managed to capitalize on one of the opportunities that came their way to take all three points.
Molde was visibly frustrated by their lack of efficiency, reflected in the accumulation of yellow cards for their players: M. Lovik, V. Lund, E. Haugan, while Elfsborg only received two cautions, one for A. Qasem and the other for I. Pettersson.
The victory allows Elfsborg to continue their journey in the European competition.
