Marumo Gallants edges Amazulu in a tight encounter
Marumo Gallants beat Amazulu 1-0 in a hard-fought match at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein. The only goal of the game came in the 3rd minute, scored by D. Msendami, who capitalized on a good assist to beat the opposing goalkeeper.
The match was marked by the intensity and fight of both teams. Amazulu dominated possession with 59%, but Marumo Gallants were more effective in attack, with 12 shots, 4 of them on target, compared to Amazulu’s 10 shots, only one of them on target.
Although Amazulu had more scoring chances, it was Marumo Gallants who took the victory thanks to D. Msendami’s efficiency. The encounter was conditioned by the numerous yellow cards shown. T. Fielies saw yellow in the 31st minute for Amazulu, while W. Arubi received the yellow card in the 87th minute for Marumo Gallants. In the final minutes, W. Jooste of Amazulu was also cautioned.
