Consadole Sapporo wins hard-fought match against Jubilo Iwata
Consadole Sapporo secured a 2-0 victory over Jubilo Iwata in a thrilling match at the Yamaha Stadium in Iwata. The game was characterized by the intensity and fight of both teams, but ultimately it was Consadole Sapporo who emerged victorious thanks to a goal from T. Kondo in the 9th minute and an own goal from Ricardo Graca in the 89th minute.
The first goal came early, when T. Kondo took advantage of a defensive error by Jubilo Iwata to score the opening goal. From then on, the game became more even, with both teams fighting for control of the ball and looking for opportunities to score.
Jubilo Iwata had some good chances to score but failed to capitalize. Meanwhile, Consadole Sapporo proved more effective in their finishing, and eventually managed to extend their lead in the 89th minute through Ricardo Graca’s own goal.
The match was also marked by yellow cards. M. Suzuki of Consadole Sapporo and H. Hilo of Jubilo Iwata received yellow cards in the 20th and 42nd minutes, respectively. Later, S. Baba of Consadole Sapporo saw yellow in the 76th minute, and S. Nakamura of Jubilo Iwata also received a yellow in the 84th minute.
Despite the defeat, Jubilo Iwata had better possession of the ball (45%) and made more shots (10 in total, 3 on target). However, their lack of ruthlessness in attack and defensive errors cost them dearly.
Consadole Sapporo takes home three important points that bring them closer to the top spots in the J1 League, while Jubilo Iwata will have to work hard to regain confidence and improve their performance.
