Jong AZ thrashed Roda in a vibrant match
Jong AZ dominated Roda in an exciting match that ended with a resounding 6-1 victory for the home team. The match was played at the AFAS Trainingscomplex in Wijdewormer, under the direction of referee B. van Kommer.
From the start, Jong AZ showed itself to be the more dominant team, with fluid and effective play. The goals came early, with L. Zeefuik opening the scoring in the 12th minute and J. Addai extending the lead three minutes later. Roda tried to react, but found themselves facing an inspired Jong AZ. R. van Bommel scored two goals in quick succession, in the 29th and 34th minutes, to make it 4-0. T. Cukur managed to pull one back in the 32nd minute, but the visitors’ joy was short-lived.
In the second half, Jong AZ did not let up the intensity and continued to look for ways to increase the difference. Addai scored again in the 56th minute, and J. Berkhout capped off the rout in the 59th minute.
Jong AZ dominated the game in all aspects, showing a high percentage of possession (54%) and generating a greater number of scoring chances (19 shots, 9 on target). Roda, for its part, was outplayed in all areas and ended the match with 3 yellow cards.
With this result, Jong AZ adds three important points at the start of the Eerste Divisie season.
