Cracovia Krakow defeats Jagiellonia in a thrilling match
Cracovia Krakow secured a 5-2 victory over Jagiellonia in a goal-filled and exciting match in the fifth round of the Polish Ekstraklasa.
The match started with a frenetic pace, with both teams looking to attack from the outset. The first goal came in the 3rd minute, when B. Kallman opened the scoring for Cracovia Krakow following an assist from D. Olafsson. The joy for the home side was short-lived, however, as L. Diaby-Fadiga equalised for Jagiellonia just nine minutes later.
In the 26th minute, J. Kubicki put Jagiellonia ahead with a goal assisted by D. Churlinov, but Cracovia Krakow reacted quickly and equalised again in the 30th minute thanks to J. Jugas.
The second half continued with the same intensity, and Kallman put Cracovia Krakow back in the lead in the 54th minute. In the closing minutes of the match, Cracovia Krakow sealed the deal with two more goals. M. Bochnak scored the fourth goal in the 90th minute and closed the scoring in the 90+4th minute.
Jagiellonia attempted to react, but their possession dominance (75%) did not translate into a greater number of clear goal-scoring opportunities. Cracovia Krakow, on the other hand, demonstrated greater effectiveness in attack, converting 5 out of their 12 shots into goals.
The referee was Szymon Marciniak, who showed a yellow card to J. Moutinho of Jagiellonia and to F. Rozga and J. Atanasov of Cracovia Krakow.
Cracovia Krakow thus adds their second victory in the Ekstraklasa, while Jagiellonia remain with just one win in their first five matches.
