Atlas thrashed Chivas in a vibrant match

Zapopan, Mexico (October 6, 2024) – Atlas decisively defeated Guadalajara Chivas in a match of the 11th round of the Apertura 2024 of Liga MX. The final score was 4-2, with an Atlas that dominated the first half and a Chivas that reacted in the second, but could not come back.

The Red and Blacks started with force and opened the scoring in the 40th minute thanks to a goal by Julio Murillo, assisted by Julian Lozano. Just at the start of the second half, in the 47th minute, Julián Márquez extended Atlas’ lead with a goal that again had Julio Murillo as the assist. Lozano closed the scoring in the 52nd minute, with an assist from Renato Fulgencio.

Guadalajara Chivas did not give up and managed to discount with a goal by Roberto Marín in the 64th minute, assisted by Victor Guzmán. In the 71st minute, Roberto Alvarado also scored for the Rebaño Sagrado, thanks to an assist by Miguel Chavez García. Despite the reaction, Chivas could not equalize the score and Atlas took the victory.

The match was marked by the intensity and the fight for possession of the ball, with Chivas dominating in that aspect (70% possession) but Atlas showing more effectiveness in attack.
