NorthEast United edges past Goa in thrilling Indian Super League encounter
NorthEast United secured a 4-3 victory over Goa in a pulsating Indian Super League match. Goals from N. Albiach (2), A. Ajaraie and B. Oram secured the win for the home side, while A. Sadiku (2) and B. Herrera found the net for Goa.
The match started with an early goal from N. Albiach in the 6th minute, but Goa responded with two goals in the second half. A. Sadiku levelled the score with a penalty in the 45th minute and then put Goa ahead in the 47th minute after an assist from A. Chhetri.
NorthEast United didn’t give up and turned the game around with two quick goals. N. Albiach scored again in the 51st minute and A. Ajaraie made it 3-2 in the 56th minute.
Goa tried to get back into the match, and B. Herrera pulled one back in the 90th minute. However, B. Oram scored the winning goal for NorthEast United in the final minute.
Goa dominated possession (69%) and took more shots (18), but NorthEast United was more clinical in attack and took home the three points.
