Santa Fe convincingly defeats Fortaleza FC in an exciting match
Bogotá, D.C. – In a vibrant match played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo, Santa Fe proved its superiority over Fortaleza FC, winning 3-1 in the 11th round of the Colombian Primera A Clausura.
The match started at a fast pace, and Santa Fe had the first chance to score in the 13th minute, but Hugo Mosquera’s goal was disallowed for offside. In the 26th minute, the home team received a yellow card for a foul by Daniel Ramírez.
However, the first goal came in the 43rd minute thanks to a precise finish by Ómar Albornoz. Fortaleza FC tried to react in the second half, making four changes in the 46th minute, but Santa Fe maintained control of the match.
The cardinal team extended their lead in the 58th minute with a goal by Edwin Perlaza, and sealed the match in the 79th minute thanks to a goal by Hugo Mosquera, assisted by Hugo Rodallega.
Fortaleza FC managed to score a consolation goal in the 90th minute with a goal from Hárold Palacios, but it was too late for a comeback.
Santa Fe dominated possession (42% against 58% for Fortaleza FC) and had more shots on goal (4 on target against 4 for the opponent). The home team committed 13 fouls and received two yellow cards, while Fortaleza FC committed 7 fouls and did not receive any yellow cards.
