Politehnica Iași defeats FCSB in a hard-fought match
Bucharest, August 17, 2024 – Politehnica Iași secured an important victory against FCSB in the sixth round of the Romanian Liga I. The match, played at the Stadionul Steaua, was marked by the expulsion of an FCSB player and the efficiency of the visiting team.
The first goal of the match came in the 27th minute, when Marius Bordeianu scored for Politehnica Iași, assisted by Andrei Gheorghita. FCSB failed to recover from the blow and was affected by the red card to David Olaru in the 36th minute.
Despite the difficulties, FCSB tried to seek the equalizer, but Politehnica Iași’s defense proved strong. The game was interrupted by several yellow cards, for both FCSB and Politehnica Iași.
In the second half, Politehnica Iași took advantage of their numerical superiority and kept control of the match. While FCSB tried to create danger, the lack of accuracy in their shots prevented them from scoring the equalizer.
The final score was 1-0 in favor of Politehnica Iași. The Iași team is now in second place in the Liga I, while FCSB drops to fourth place.
