FCSB defeats Petrolul Ploiesti in a thrilling and controversial match
Bucharest, September 21, 2024. FCSB defeated Petrolul Ploiesti 2-1 on Saturday in a tense match of the 10th round of the Romanian Liga I. The match was played at Stadionul Steaua and was marked by intensity, cards, and controversy.
The match began at a fast pace, and in the 3rd minute, FCSB took the lead thanks to a goal from Alexandru Baluta, assisted by Ovidiu Popescu. Just a minute later, Marius Huja received the first yellow card of the match for a foul on an FCSB player.

In the 72nd minute, Valentin Cretu of FCSB and Petre Papp of Petrolul Ploiesti received yellow cards for fouls.
Finally, in the 90th minute, Andrei Tudorie scored the equalizer for Petrolul Ploiesti after a good individual play.
Despite playing most of the match with a man down, FCSB managed to prevail in the end. The victory allows the Bucharest team to add three important points in the Romanian Liga I.
