FC Minsk dominates FC Gomel in a three-goal match
Minsk, Belarus – FC Minsk secured a convincing 3-1 victory over FC Gomel in a Belarusian Premier League match played at the SOK Olympijskij Natural Polie this Sunday. The home side dominated the game from the outset, scoring three goals in the first half and resisting Gomel’s late attack.
FC Minsk’s goals came from V. Vasiljev (9′), J. Mustafa (34′) and A. Mikhalenko (52′). K. Zabelin assisted on two of the goals. FC Gomel managed to pull one back in the 87th minute through F. Abdullahi, but it was too little too late to turn the tide of the match.
FC Minsk showed great efficiency in attack, while FC Gomel struggled to create scoring chances. The away side received two yellow cards in the second half, one for I. Zayats in the 73rd minute and another for A. Potapenko in the 75th minute.
FC Minsk adds three important points that bring them closer to the top positions in the league table. On the other hand, FC Gomel will need to improve their performance if they want to aspire to Champions League places.
