Cruz Azul dominates Necaxa in Liga MX with convincing win
Cruz Azul controlled the game from the start, scoring three goals in the first hour of play and leaving Necaxa with no chance of a response.
The match started with a fast pace and Cruz Azul quickly took the lead thanks to a goal from Ángel Henry Gutiérrez Torres in the 8th minute, assisted by Luis Romo. The cement machine continued to press and increased their advantage in the 19th minute with a goal from Carlos Rotondi, who took advantage of a great assist from Gutiérrez Torres.
Necaxa tried to react in the second half, making several changes in search of a discount, but Cruz Azul was more effective and scored their third goal in the 63rd minute through Leonardo Faravelli, assisted by Christian Rodríguez.
Cruz Azul’s dominance was reflected in their ball possession, which hovered around 70%, and in the number of shots taken (12 by 3 from Necaxa), 3 of which ended up in the Rayos’ goal.
With this victory, Cruz Azul consolidates its position in the Liga MX table, while Necaxa continues to struggle for consistency.
