Chesterfield crushes Crewe in a dominant performance
Chesterfield dominated Crewe in a one-sided match, scoring five goals in the first half alone.
J. Berry-McNally opened the scoring in the 1st minute, and W. Grigg doubled the lead just ten minutes later. Berry-McNally bagged his second goal in the 12th minute, before T. Naylor put Chesterfield 4-0 up in the 28th minute.
The second half was a formality, with Chesterfield continuing to dominate. A. Dobra netted the fifth goal in the 49th minute.
Despite the resounding victory, the match was not without controversy. V. Daley-Campbell was shown a yellow card in the 47th minute, while W. Grigg received a booking in the 62nd minute. L. Jessop and T. Naylor were also cautioned in the 84th and 87th minutes respectively.
Crewe were unable to find their rhythm throughout the match and rarely threatened the Chesterfield goal.
