Sudtirol edges Cosenza in dramatic Serie B clash

Sudtirol secured a 2-0 victory over Cosenza in a thrilling Serie B match played on Saturday at the Stadio San Vito-Luigi Marulla in Cosenza. The game was marked by a red card for J. Kurtic in the 45th minute for Sudtirol, but the visitors managed to recover and secure the win with goals from M. Rover in the 7th minute and K. Zedadka in the 75th minute.

Sudtirol dominated the first half, taking advantage of their numerical superiority after Kurtic’s dismissal, and opened the scoring with a goal from M. Rover in the 7th minute. Cosenza tried to react, but their lack of accuracy in attack and the strong Sudtirol defense prevented them from getting closer to the goal.

In the second half, Cosenza came out with more intensity and pressed Sudtirol, but it was the visitors who found the back of the net. K. Zedadka scored Sudtirol’s second goal in the 75th minute, sealing the victory.

Cosenza had more possession of the ball (64%), but Sudtirol was more effective in attack, launching 9 shots on goal compared to Cosenza’s 6. The visitors were also more disciplined, receiving only one yellow card, while Cosenza received two.

The win for Sudtirol gives them three valuable points in their fight for promotion to Serie A. Cosenza, on the other hand, continue to struggle to get out of the bottom positions of the table.
