América de Cali beats Chico with two goals in Tunja
Tunja, Colombia – América de Cali secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Chico at the Estadio de La Independencia in a match corresponding to round 13 of the Colombian Primera A Clausura.
The first goal of the match came in the 5th minute thanks to a precise finish from R. Holgado, who took advantage of a good assist to open the scoring. In the 31st minute, C. Barrios extended the lead for the visitors after receiving a pass from R. Holgado.
Despite the defeat, Chico had more possession of the ball (54% vs 46%), took more shots (16 vs 7) and had more shots on target (4 vs 4). However, América de Cali’s effectiveness in the final third made the difference on the scoreboard.
The match was marked by the discipline of both teams. Chico received a yellow card in the 10th minute, while América de Cali received two yellow cards, one in the 57th minute and another in the 79th minute.
