CFR 1907 Cluj beats FC Botosani in a vibrant match
Cluj-Napoca, August 25, 2024 – CFR 1907 Cluj achieved a resounding victory over FC Botosani by 3-0 in the 7th round of the Romanian Liga I, played at the Stadionul Dr. Constantin Rădulescu.
The game started with a frantic pace, with both teams looking to score. The first yellow card came in the 30th minute when A. Diez of FC Botosani was booked. Seven minutes later, L. Munteanu of CFR 1907 Cluj was also cautioned.
The opening goal came in the 53rd minute, when B. Nkololo capitalized on a pass from M. Kamara to put CFR 1907 Cluj 1-0 up. CFR 1907 Cluj kept up the pressure and in the 70th minute, D. Djokovic doubled the lead with a goal that left the FC Botosani goalkeeper helpless. The Cluj team sealed the victory in the 86th minute with a goal from R. Filip.
CFR 1907 Cluj dominated the game in terms of ball possession (53%), shots (21, 11 on target) and corners (8), while FC Botosani was more aggressive in the tackling, committing 16 fouls.
