Fulham beats Birmingham in a tense match

Fulham overcame Birmingham City by 2-0 in the second round of the League Cup, in an exciting match that took place at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.

Fulham started strong, scoring two goals in the first 14 minutes. Raúl Jiménez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 10th minute, following a foul by a Birmingham player. Shortly after, in the 14th minute, James Stansfield extended the Fulham lead with a high-quality goal.

Birmingham tried to react, but Fulham’s defense was solid and did not concede many scoring chances. In the second half, the pace of the game picked up and both teams had their opportunities.

Fulham had more possession in the second half and created some good chances, but they couldn’t extend their lead. Birmingham, in turn, approached the opponent’s area on several occasions, but failed to find the way to goal.
