Japan crushes Bahrain in a dominant performance

Japan convincingly beat Bahrain 6-0 in a third round Asian qualifying match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Japanese dominated the encounter from the start, controlling possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

The first goal came in the 37th minute when Ayase Ueda scored from the penalty spot. Just a minute later, Ueda scored again, this time with a field goal, to make it 2-0.

In the second half, Japan continued their dominance and extended their lead with goals from Hidemasa Morita (minutes 61 and 64) and Koki Ogawa (minute 81). Ogawa himself assisted Morita on the player’s second goal.

Bahrain, on the other hand, failed to threaten the Japanese goal. The Japanese defense was solid and Bahrain’s lack of precision in attack prevented any chance of a comeback.

The victory puts Japan in a privileged position in the group. The Asian team continues its path towards the World Cup with a firm step.
