Aurora claims victory in a hard-fought match against Guabirá
Cochabamba, Bolivia – Aurora secured an important home victory against Guabirá, winning 2-1 in a match characterized by its intensity and several yellow cards. The game, corresponding to matchday 17 of the Clausura tournament of the Bolivian First Division, was played at the Félix Capriles stadium and was marked by Aurora’s higher possession of the ball (61%) in contrast to Guabirá’s three shots, none of which were on target.
The first goal of the match came in the 38th minute, courtesy of Roberto Simisterra, who capitalized on a pass from Carlos Sejas to put Aurora ahead. The second half of the match was even more exciting, and Guabirá managed to tie the score in the 64th minute thanks to a goal from Nelson Masskooni. However, Guabirá’s joy was short-lived, as just three minutes later, David Robles scored the winning goal for Aurora after an assist from Jorge Torrico.
The match was marred by constant fouls that led the referee to show a total of nine yellow cards. Aurora received six warnings (L. Barboza, D. Robles, E. Michelli, D. Akologo, O. Blanco), while Guabirá received three (J. Parada, M. Ferrel, and E. Japa).
The victory allows Aurora to add three crucial points that keep them in the fight for the top spots in the table, while Guabirá will have to rethink their strategy to recover ground in the championship.
