Genk defeats Anderlecht in a thrilling match
Genk beat Anderlecht 3-0 in an exciting match of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. The goals came in the 7th minute by J. Steuckers, in the 37th minute by M. Sadick and in the 86th minute by N. Adedeji-Sternberg. The match was played at the Lotto Park in Brussel, under the direction of Belgian referee Eric Lambrechts.
Genk dominated the first half of the match, scoring two goals in the first 40 minutes. Anderlecht tried to react in the second half, but failed to find a way to goal. The entry of Adedeji-Sternberg in the 85th minute revitalized Genk, who scored their third goal thanks to an assist from Oh Hyeon-Gyu.
Despite Anderlecht’s numerous substitutions, they failed to create danger in the Genk goal. Yellow cards for P. Hrosovsky and Z. El Ouahdi for Genk and for M. Ashimeru for Anderlecht were not enough to change the course of the game.
Genk takes the victory by a resounding 3-0, consolidating their position in the Jupiler Pro League.
