Al Wakrah overcomes Al-Khor in a tight match
Al Wakrah secured an important home victory against Al-Khor with a 3-1 win in the sixth round of the Qatari Stars League. The match, played at the Al Janoub Stadium, was characterized by the intensity and fighting spirit of both teams.
The first half saw a dominant Al Wakrah, who opened the scoring in the 21st minute thanks to a goal from R. Gomes. The home side’s joy was multiplied in the 45th minute when A. Assal netted the second goal.
However, Al-Khor didn’t give up and came out more aggressive in the second half. S. Hanni managed to pull one back in the 49th minute, giving the visitors some hope.
But Al Wakrah managed to stay in control of the match and sealed the victory with another goal from R. Gomes in the 62nd minute.
Despite the defeat, Al-Khor proved to be a tough opponent and put Al Wakrah under pressure on several occasions. The match was marked by tension and fighting, with a total of 25 fouls and four yellow cards.
Al Wakrah adds three important points to their tally, allowing them to consolidate their position in the top half of the table. Al-Khor, on the other hand, will have to fight to recover lost ground in the coming rounds.
