Al-Hilal mounts comeback to defeat Damac in thrilling encounter
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In a pulsating match played at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, Al-Hilal Saudi FC staged a spectacular comeback to defeat Damac 4-2 in the second round of the Saudi Pro League.
The match started at a frantic pace and Damac surprised Al-Hilal with two goals in the opening minutes of the second half. F. Kamano opened the scoring in the 49th minute and H. Diallo extended the lead in the 53rd minute.
However, Al-Hilal refused to give up and started pressing with greater intensity. Aleksandar Mitrovic pulled one back in the 45th minute and Mohamed Al Juwayr equalized in the 73rd minute. The Serbian Mitrovic appeared on the scoresheet again in the 84th minute, and R. Lodi sealed the victory in the 90th minute.
Al-Hilal dominated possession with 69% and generated 15 shots, 9 of them on target. Damac, on the other hand, had 31% possession and 6 shots, 3 on target.
The referee of the match was Romanian Istvan Kovacs, who showed 2 yellow cards to Al-Hilal players and 3 to Damac players.
