Al Bataeh mounts a comeback to beat Al Ain in a thrilling match
Al Bataeh staged an epic comeback at the Khalid Bin Mohammed Stadium, defeating Al Ain 4-3 in a vibrant match on the second round of the 2024 Pro League.
The first minutes were dominated by Al Ain, who took the lead with a penalty scored by K. Laba in the 9th minute. An own goal by M. Ahmad in the 12th minute extended the lead, and B. Mohammed, with an assist from Kaku, made it 3-0 in the 16th minute.
Al Bataeh reacted with a goal from Paulinho in the 45th minute, and then equalised the score with a penalty scored by Alvaro de Oliveira in the 58th minute. Finally, goals from A. Abang in the 90th minute and A. Ganiev, with a yellow card for dangerous play, sealed the victory for Al Bataeh.
The match was marked by Al Ain’s dominance in possession (66%), while Al Bataeh managed to convert their chances, with 14 shots (5 on target) compared to Al Ain’s 16 (4 on target).
